Matthew Gil is a Korean Canadian artist based in Calgary, Alberta. He received a BFA in Painting from the Alberta University of the Arts and works across painting and ceramics. His practice is grounded in intuitive abstraction and includes painting, installation, and ceramic vessels. His work explores ambivalence and the possibility of holding opposing states within a single work. Process is central to his practice, serving as a way to navigate uncertainty and make sense of the unknown. Through an intuitive and exploratory approach to materials, he works between intention and discovery, allowing contrasting forces to coexist, shift, and find resolution through the act of making. Matthew currently works in the arts and is a co-director of Crawlspace Gallery and Collective.

Dara Humniski is a multidisciplinary artist focused on drawing, woodworking, and ceramics, with a wider practice that includes sculpture and print media. Dara is the Woodshop Educational Art Technician at Alberta University of  the Arts. She holds a Bachelor of Design from UofA, is a Red Seal Journeyman Carpenter, and is a founding member of the Loyal Loot design collective. Dara has completed residencies at the Banff Centre, Plug-in ICA, SNAP Gallery and Medalta, and is based in Mohkinstsis/Calgary.
